Cookies

A cookie is a file containing an identifier (a string of letters and numbers) that is sent by a web server to a web browser and is stored by the browser. The identifier is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page.

Cookies may be either “persistent” cookies or “session” cookies: a persistent cookie will be stored by a web browser and will remain valid until its set expiry date unless deleted by the user before the expiry date; a session cookie, on the other hand, will expire at the end of the user session, when the web browser is closed.

Cookies typically do not contain any information that personally identifies a user; however, the personal data we store about you may be linked to the information stored in and obtained from cookies.

We use cookies for the following purposes:

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience, so you don’t have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Security – We use cookies as part of our security measures to protect user accounts, including preventing fraudulent use of login credentials and safeguarding our website and services.

Analysis – we use cookies to help us analyze the use and performance of our website and services.

We use cookies to store your preferences regarding the use of cookies in general.

Our service providers use cookies, which may be stored on your computer when you visit our website.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g, videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the visitor had visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How we protect your data

We adhere to industry standards for information management to safeguard your data, including the deployment of Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificates, which digitally encrypt all data entry communications on our websites. Beyond encryption, we maintain the integrity of our digital records by hosting The Antecedents on a private, sovereign Virtual Private Server (VPS). This ensures that your interaction with our content is shielded from the mass-data extraction common in shared hosting environments. We perform regular security audits of our internal protocols to ensure that the “Gold Mine” of your psyche and your digital footprint remain under the protection of Awe Video LLC.
